Sergi Finishes Third at Showtime Speedway
Makes Podium Finish on First Visit to Pinellas Park, Florida Track
Anthony Sergi made his first visit to Showtime Speedway in Pinellas Park, Florida on Saturday night to compete in the Florida State Super Late Model Championships. He made the most of his visit by finishing third.
“The car was pretty good and it was my first time there,” Sergi said. “We qualified 12th and ran the bottom line all practice. But when we got to the race, the car was awesome on the high side.
“We got in a little incident on lap 45 with TJ Duke when we were running eighth. We got back going and missed all of the wrecks and got to the front. We started fourth on the green, white, checkered restart and was able to finish third.”
The third place finish is his best finish so far in 2014 and gives him momentum for some upcoming big races like the Marion Edwards Memorial on September 27th and the Governors Cup 200 on November 23rd at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
His next event will be Saturday, September 13th at Desoto Speedway in Bradenton, Florida.
