Anthony Sergi Seventh at Desoto
18-Year-Old Ready for Marion Edwards Memorial
Anthony Sergi is confident that he can win when he heads back to his home track of New Smyrna Speedway (FL) in a couple of weeks.

"I'm happy I'm finally going back to my home track," said the Orlando, Florida native.  "I know last time we had a good car.  If all goes right I think we'll be in the winner's circle."

Sergi is coming off a frustrating race at Desoto Speedway (FL) where he finished seventh this past weekend after starting ninth.

"The people in front of me didn't seem like they wanted to go at all," he said.  "I always got shuffled to the back because of them.  We'd fight our way back up front and then we'd get up front and something else would happen."

But Sergi was able to take a couple of positives out of the weekend.

"We had a real fast car," he said.  "And the car is in one piece so that's about as happy as we can get."

Sergi is still chasing the Bright House Challenge Series championship with just a couple of races remaining.  He's currently sixth in the standings, 28 points behind leader Joe Boyd.

"I really don't look at points until like the last race or so," said Sergi.  "I'm more about going out there and trying to win for the whole season.  We are pretty close.  I think we can get it done."

Sergi's next race is on September 27th at New Smyrna Speedway as a part of the Bright House Challenge Series.
