Sergi Happy with a Top Ten This Past Weekend
Finishes Ninth at Marion Edwards Memorial
Anthony Sergi came into the 41st Annual Marion Edwards Memorial with a simple goal, just to get a top-ten finish with his backup car. He accomplished this by finishing ninth this past Saturday night.
“The car wasn’t acting well, the setup was good but we didn’t have the great times like we usually have at New Smyrna,” Sergi said. “I thought we had a 15th place car going into the Marion Edwards Memorial. We knew we weren’t going to have a good car and was hoping for a top ten. We didn’t do awesome but we were very happy with our finish because it was a lot better than what we thought going in the race.”
After a horrific crash last month at New Smyrna, Sergi and his team had to work on finding the right setup for his back up car.
“We think we learned a lot this past weekend. We have a new car that we will have ready for the Governor’s Cup later this month,” Sergi said. “I think we found something that will make us a contender for the win.”
The 48th Annual JEGS Florida Governor’s Cup 200 presented by Bright House Networks takes place on Saturday, June 26th.
