Anthony Sergi Finishes 13th in FUPS Citrus County Race

Brake Issues Prevents a Top-Ten Run

Anthony Sergi was hoping for a good performance in the Florida United Promoter Series event this past Saturday night at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida.  But brake problems relegated him to a 13th place finish.

“We hard a pretty good car in practice and qualified 12th for the event,” Sergi said. “The car was alright in the early going but the brakes started to lock up on me.  We pitted during the cautions to try to fix them, but we were able to keep the car in one piece and salvage a 13th place finish.”

Sergi said that since Saturday night, his team has been working on the car and are now preparing to get ready to race this Saturday night at New Smyrna Speedway. 

“We have had some good runs at New Smyrna this year running in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events,” Sergi said. “Hopefully, we won’t run into any more mechanical issues and have some good finishes and wins.”

Sergi’s plan are to run New Smyrna’s next seven events.
