Tough Luck For Sergi at Auburndale, But Optimistic For Hart Memorial
Sergi Seeks Third Win of 2015, First in Clyde Hart Memorial
Anthony Sergi is typically a mainstay at New Smyrna Speedway, but this past Saturday he was spotted at the Auburndale Speedway.  He qualified fifth raced his black and blue No. 20 to a sixth-place finish after some tough luck in the 100-lap feature.

"In the race I thought the car was pretty good," Sergi said.  "But we got caught up in some messes and it was hard to get back through there."

The 20-year-old driver from Orlando, Florida may not have gotten the finish he wanted, but he was still happy with his day at Auburndale.

"I was pretty happy but I think we could have done better," he said.  "But we haven't been there in over a year so it's kind of difficult to adapt quickly.  Overall I think it went pretty well."

So why was Sergi at Auburndale on Saturday night?  Well, the answer is pretty simple.

"I was getting kind of bored of running New Smyrna all the time so we wanted to go to a different track and race against some different people," said Sergi.  "It was an 18-car field which was the biggest field I've seen since Speedweeks.  It was good to practice and get me a bit better as we get ready for the Clyde Hart Memorial this weekend."

Sergi has won at New Smyrna Speedway on quite a few occasions throughout his racing career, but never in the 100-lap Clyde Hart Memorial.  He definitely thinks he'll be a contender to take the checkered flag in a race that would mean a lot to him.

"It would mean a lot because Mr. Clyde Hart was the owner of the track and his whole family is still there," Sergi said.  "I've raced there my whole life so it would mean a lot to get a win in the memorial for Clyde Hart."
