Sergi Finishes 11th at Recent New Smyrna Outing
Hot Water Temperatures End Florida Driver’s Night Early
Anthony Sergi was hoping for a strong night last Saturday night at New Smyrna Speedway (FL), but withdrew from the race on lap 56 when his water temperature went levels to high to continue.

“We had a really fast car last weekend,” Sergi said.  “We worked on it on Friday and really thought we had something for them on Saturday night.  We qualified first and were real happy about that.”

After qualifying, Sergi went to do the pill draw for the invert and pulled an eight.

“We pulled an eight and I wasn’t happy about that,” Sergi said.  “We started the race and got up to the top-five and was riding around until lap 45 when my water temp start get really hot, so I brought the car to the pits.”

Sergi finished 11th in the Pro Late Model feature.

Sergi will head to Showtime Speedway in Pinellas Park, Florida on Saturday, August 30th to compete in the third annual Florida State Super Late Model Championships.
